Have you ever heard anyone saying, “talk is cheap“? What does it mean, actually? It literally means that talking is cheap, you don’t have to pay anything for it. Not even a single cent.
You can talk about whatever you want. The things you dream to be. Either to be the President of the United States. Or to be the wealthiest man in the world. Or even to own an island with a big and beautiful mansion.
And you know what, you can keep blabbering to the people about how big your ambitions are on. But, to start doing? It’s another story. Only you who will be determining the value of those words, whether it is worth it or worthless. It depends on you to take action for all the dreams you’re thinking.
Your actions will reflect the people’s reactions; either they consider you a genius or just a crazy person. That’s why action is much more powerful than empty talk. Your talk may make people listen, but your action is what make them believe.
“Well done is better than well said.”
-Benjamin Franklin
Moreover, only through the initiative to start doing can bring you closer to the dream you want or the person you want to be. Those who don’t will remain the same. Put in your mind; that life is a matter of choice. Either to go for it, or not.
Every day, you have to make decisions that can either lift your life to a higher degree or leave you mediocre. And whether those choices are correct or wrong, they must be followed by action; then, you can learn something from them.
However, if you make a mistake from it, never look down upon yourself, lift your head high, face forward, and consider them a harsh lesson you must learn. What is the taker’s personality?
How to Start Doing?
1. Don’t think too much, just do it!
7 Rules of Life Motivational Poster
Don’t take it wrong here. Thinking is great. Indeed, it’s very crucial to think first before you do anything. The problem is, most people usually think, and keep thinking. And it stopped there. They are too afraid to take the first step to start doing. There are too many things in their minds that stopped them from taking action.
How to start? What to do? Why did I do it? What if I fail? What will people say? These questions keep messing around with their head on and on until they decide to give up. Those negative thoughts usually stop them from taking further action and start doing.
So many negative thoughts of failing keep entering your mind, hindering you from the step to start doing. So, how can you stop this thought? The best way to prevent this is to stop thinking too much and do it. Nothing is beneficial if you keep overthinking. A negative mind will never give you a positive life.
Either succeed or fail; you will learn something from it. You’ll also improve yourself to be a better person in the future as long as you start doing. Thinking is excellent, overthinking is not.
“The only man who never makes mistakes is the man who never does anything.”
– Theodore Roosevelt
“We do today what they won’t, so tomorrow we can accomplish what they can’t.”
– Dwayne Johnson
2. Go for your goals, don’t delay it
Deep in our heart, we all have plans to achieve our goals. But for the majority of us, when asked when to start doing it, we’ll give excuses. We’ll said later, in the future, or when we have more money. Believe me or not, big chances are the plan will not come true.
Because delaying is the enemy of success. One day’s delay is another day’s lack of progress. We might easily give up if we encounter any problems in the process. And nothing will hold and motivate us to keep going for it.
If you have a goal, take it immediately away and never delay. No matter how many hours you spend on planning, it won’t get anything done if there is no step to start doing it. There are a lot of opportunities out there every day for those who start taking action.
Trust me; opportunities only can convert to success if you grasp them. But, if you just let it pass, you will surely regret it.
“Someday,” you said you’d do it yesterday; Yesterday, you said you’ll do it today. Today, if you push it to tomorrow, it’s likely tomorrow, you’ll shift it to “Someday”! Do it now!”
– Israelmore Ayivor
“You may delay, but time will not. And lost time is never found again.”
– Benjamin Franklin
3. Self-Disciplined: Take it Serious!
Another key to be an action taker is to take things seriously in achieving your goals. Only those who are really serious to work on their goals will take the initiative to start doing. The distance between your dreams and reality is discipline. You can get everything done if you are disciplined and serious about it. No matter what field you are in, as long as you have those things in yourself, I’m pretty sure you are going to be successful.
Serious and disciplined are the special traits that every successful person has. Once they set their minds, they keep working for it; even if the storm comes, they will face it head-on until they get what they want.
You may be a careless and reckless person in your daily life, but you have to be serious and disciplined when it comes to dreams, goals, and passion. That’s how you’re going to succeed. If you want to start doing, be serious about it. Then, keep on the discipline until you achieve your goal.
“Discipline is the soul of an army. It makes small numbers formidable; procures success to the weak, and esteem to all.”
– George Washington
“Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.”
– Jim Rohn
4. Be in the right circle
To be an action taker, the most important thing is to circle yourself with the right group of people. Surround yourself with positive people or action-takers so that nobody will stop you or poison your mind with their toxicity. To start doing, ignore those voices.
Your friends are your reflection. So if you surround yourself with positive people, you will be positive as well. But, if your friends are full of toxic people, you are going to be intoxicated. You’ll be demotivated and never start doing anything.
“I want to be around people that do things. Not around people that judge or talk about what people do. I want to be around people that dream and support and do things.”
– Amy Poehler
“The day I found my smile again was when I stood in my own storm and danced with my tribe.”
– Shannon L. Alder
Remember, action takers, are money makers. More actions, Less talk, and I’m pretty sure you are going to be successful.
I cannot guarantee that you will surely achieve your goal once you start doing and taking action. Instead, be prepared for anything. The thing is, once you begin the first step, you’ll realize that not every action will be perfect.
Not every action will produce your desired result. But rest assured. Making mistake, experimenting to see what will happens are all part of the process of eventually getting it right and be successful. Take the initiative to start doing, be an action taker!
